All Five Mile Residents: Community Meeting March 5th
You are invited to a very important meeting for our neighborhood. At our quarterly meeting on March 5th at 6:30PM, We have three extremely important topics to discuss and questions to be answered that directly affect you and your neighborhood. Bonnie Mager, Spokane County Commissioner will be here to talk about County services, joint planning, schools, traffic and anything else you wish to discuss with her regarding Five Mile. The Sheriff will also be attending the meeting to answer County related questions.
On Everyone's Minds
Our Roads
Also the City will discuss rebuilding the road from Lincoln to Strong and what that might look like. We can also ask them about bike lanes, pedestrian pathways &, street trees.
Since we are lucky to have both the City and County here at one time, it would be timely to address joint planning and how we can work together to provide pathways and trails that would benefit all of us and certainly our children who must bus to school for safety reasons.
You Might Not Know
Five Mile Prairie Neighborhood Association has been chosen by the City for neighborhood Planning. We already have a head start since we started our planning efforts in 2003. Funding was not available through the City until now. Our own, Candace Mumm, who has 10+ years on the City Plan Commission is our Chair. We need you to weigh in with comments during our public participation process. Come and meet Candace. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Comprehensive Plan is invigorating. Please take part in shaping your neighborhood.
Bike Lanes
Bicycles, YES: Come hear about the proposed bike lane network. Where on Five Mile it will occur and how you can help push this along. Candace will have a map showing where our bike lanes will be and explain the difference between bike boulevards, bike lanes, shared roadway or marked shared roadway.
