Volunteer RPG Player Archetype II Trainee - Therapeutic Settings

General Purpose
The player archetype is responsible for filling the role of various role-playing gamer "types". The Level 2 Player Archetype is trained to respectfully and professionally fulfil this role in therapeutic settings. Therapeutic player archetype examples include: Autism spectrum, MD, CP, brain injury, etc. This is an approach similar to roles played in First Aid, hospital, ICU, Search & Rescue, and similar training programs. This is an excellent means of gaining experience toward other RPG professions.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- The participant takes on various Player Archetype roles to help train Game Master Therapists to learn how to address such situations more effectively.
 - 
Participate in at least one RPG session per week (sessions typically last 3-4 hours).
 - Additionally attend either in-person or via remote access, at least one training session / administrative meeting per week (3-4 hours)
 - Document participation observations for review by supervisor.
 - 
Create player characters.
 - Create Therapeutic Player Archetype character dossiers.
 - 
Work with trainers to help challenge GM trainees
 - 
Report back to Trainer with regular planning progress reports.
 - 
Assist Game Masters and other Facilitators as needed, to optimize participants experience.
 - Also help as "go-fer" for various related tasks
 - Availability for at least 1 weekly group session per week (game sessions typically 3-5 hours).

Education and Training

Knowledge and Experience
Required:
- 
Minimum 2+ years RPG experience (tabletop and/or live action), with at least one RPG format.
 - Minimum 1+ years Therapeutic or medical care background/training
 
RPG formats include: tabletop (RPG), live-action (LARP), computer-based (CRPG), and solo adventure books and modules (SABM).
Preferred:
- 
5+ years experience organizing and running recreational events.
 - 
2+ years personal experience with all 4 RPG formats.
 - 
Some working knowledge/experience with music and music therapy
 - 
Some working knowledge/experience with therapeutic recreation / recreational therapy
 - American Sign Language (ASL).
 - Other languages.

Compensation: This is an a mid-entry level volunteer position. There is no financial compensation. Training sessions are free.
